Aspen Fashion Week News: William Grant & Sons and Winter Cocktail Recipes

Of course Aspen Fashion Week is about the clothes, but we believe fashion encompasses many aspects of style. March 11-14, Aspen will be featuring the crème de la crème of everything stylish, and that includes sipping on only the best beverages while previewing all of next year’s fashions. We are fortunate enough to have William Grant & Sons as the official spirits sponsor of Aspen Fashion Week 2012, and couldn’t be more excited about offering their wide assortment of cocktails during AFW events.

William Grant & Sons is an independent family-owned distiller who has been honored as “Distiller of the Year” by the International Wine & Spirit Competition for the second year running and the fourth time since 1999. The luxury spirits company has the highest accolades, and lucky for us, the best brands. During Aspen Fashion Week 2012, guests 21 and up can enjoy Glenfiddich, The Balvenie, Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey, Hendrick’s Gin, Sailor Jerry Rum, Milagro Tequila and Stolichnaya, to name a few.

The AFW team has done the research, and we have determined these to be our favorite mountain beverages.

Classic Bloody Mary— This is a great way to start your day with a little kick!
1.5 parts Stoli Vodka
2.5 parts tomato juice
2 pinches salt
2 pinches pepper
2 dashes hot sauce
2 dashes worcestershire sauce
1 squeeze of lemon
garnish with olives

Irish Coffee— This is the classic winter wonderland beverage.
1.5 parts Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey
1.5 parts Irish cream liqueur
1 cup hot brewed coffee
garnish with whipped cream

Broken Leg— Perfect to warm you up after a day on the slopes.
1 part Sailor Jerry Rum
1 glass hot apple cider
garnish with cinnamon sticks

Margarita—Great for lounging on the sundeck.
2 parts Milagro Tequila                                                                                                               1 part agave nectar                                                                                                                   1 part lime juice                                                                                                                   garnish with lime wheel and salt

G & T—Always chic.
2 part Hendrick’s Gin
5 part tonic water
garnish with lime wedge
