Telluride Plein Air Festival, Telluride

The Telluride Plein Air Festival is an essential fundraiser for the Sheridan
Arts Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization created to restore
and preserve the Sheridan Opera House while bringing quality arts and
entertainment to the town of Telluride. Forty percent of the revenue from each
plein air art sale goes to the Sheridan Arts Foundation (SAF), supporting
community programming at the Sheridan Opera House.
In addition to observing some of the nation’s top plein air artists at work,
Telluride Plein Air Festival allows locals and tourists alike enjoy watching
our two-hour quick draw competition, followed by the VIP Artist Choice Preview
Party featuring each artists’ favorite piece of the week. The festival
culminates in a three-day sale, where the artists display the work they created
all week long.

Minturn Independence Day Celebration
, Minturn
Minturn’s annual Independence Day Celebration will take place on Tuesday, July 2nd.  We will have live music from The Vail Valley Band, with an opener by The Hip Snacks.  Kids can enjoy a bounce house, mechanical bull, face painting and a balloon artist.  
Food, snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase from Rocky Mountain Taco.  
BYOB refreshments welcome, but please no glass in the park.  Blankets and low camp chairs welcome.  Dogs allowed, but please keep your furry friends leashed.

Ducky Derby, Lake City
The annual Lake City / Hinsdale County Chamber of Commerce Ducky Derby! Each raffle ticket buys a duck to be entered in the race with prizes given to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and last place ducks.
Adopt a duck or several for this race. There are hundreds of ducks, of different colors, that will race down Henson Creek to the confluence at Memorial Park. The more ducks you adopt, the greater your chances to win!
Each ducky is $5 or 5 ducks for $20.
Buy tickets in person at the Visitor Center, from the Country Store or other local businesses, at BINGO, or at the Lake City Town Park During Independence Day Weekend festivities. 
Ducks drop at 3:00 pm on July 4th near 201 CR 20 (Lake City Ice Park) and finish racing at the Memorial Park Gazebo.

Under the lights at the Brent Romick Arena, clouds of dirt and cries of victory tell the gripping story of the West with a time-honored and award-winning Steamboat tradition. Watch Team Roping, Bare Back Riding, Tie-Down Roping, Steer Wrestling, Saddle Broc Riding, Barrel Racing and Bull Riding. The kids can participate in the calf and ram scramble. It’s non-stop action!
The Steamboat Pro Rodeo Series takes place every Friday and Saturday night from July through August in Downtown Steamboat Springs. Shows begin at 7:30 p.m. with the exception of the Fourth of July performance which begins at 6:30 p.m.

Every 4th of July, Buena Vista, Colorado, transforms into a vibrant festival of red, white & blue celebrations, attracting locals and tourists alike. Our annual Independence Day festivities kick off with a traditional parade featuring vintage cars, elaborate floats, local organizations rolling down our historic Main Street. We encourage families to come with your bikes, trikes, and scooters decked out in red, white, and blue. The Bike Parade may also include unicycles or other wheeled, non-motorized, pedal-powered vehicles.
9:15 AM – Line-Up Begins at the Eagle Medical Center. Decorate your bike in red, white & blue!
10:00 AM – Parade begins. We ride from the Eagle Medical Center North lot along the bike path to Brush Creek Pavilion. Celebration continues with a Foam Party and Frozen-Pops… while they last.
Please sustain from inviting your furry friends along the bike parade route. Furry Friends are welcome at the Park.

4th of July Festival, Golden
Bring a picnic and join the Golden Lions Club for the annual 4th of July community celebration in Lions Park on 10th Street. The Golden Lions Club is organizing and hosting the 4th of July community celebration in Lions Park again this year. This is one of the major ways for the Lions to give back to the Golden community and our country. Activities include kids’ games and music provided by three bands starting at 11:30 am. The celebration is designed to be a day for families, friends, and neighbors to get together at the beautiful park on 10th Street to picnic or purchase food and drink from American Legion Golden Post 21, five specialty food trucks, cold Coors, Golden City Brewery beer, and Bonacquisti Wines (Denver’s Urban Winery).

The day is celebrated with fun for all. Events like the largest Pro Rodeo event of the summer and a hometown parade are deep-rooted Independence Day traditions we’re excited to bring back again this year.
Cowboys’ Roundup Days: Cowboys’ Roundup Days is celebrating again in true western fashion! The event will include a weekend full of family-friendly activities as well as the Pro Rodeo Series with four consecutive rodeos on July 3 – 6. 
Hometown Parade: July 4 | 10 AM | Lincoln Ave. between 6th and 10th St.

Fireworks and Preventing Wildfires
Steamboat Springs will not offer a firework display as part of its Independence Day Celebration. Our community places a high value on wildfire prevention, and we thank visitors and residents in advance for not using fireworks in Steamboat Springs this Fourth of July.  Learn more about preventing wildfires.

Get ready to race up the mountain! The Telluride Foundation is hosting the annual Rundola on the Fourth of July. The Rundola is an open registration uphill foot race. Runners start at the base of the gondola on the town of Telluride side and finish at the top of the ridge. Runners and hikers will climb up the Telluride Trail (4,600 feet long, 40 feet wide with a 13% grade). There is an elevation gain of 1,810 feet.

The annual Fourth of July Patriotic Concert has taken place since 1987 and features a performance by The Philadelphia Orchestra. All ages are welcome!
All proceeds will benefit the Vail Veterans Program. Audience favorite Jeff Tyzik opens The Philadelphia Orchestra’s residency in a program celebrating Independence Day, including the world premiere of his own work Lift Off! commissioned by Bravo! Vail in honor of his 30th year at the Festival. Gates open at 12:30pm, show starts at 2:00pm.

Rendezvous Run for Independence Winter Park Resort
Start your 4th of July celebration right and join us in beautiful Winter Park, Colorado Unfiltered, for the Rendezvous Run for Independence 5k Run/Walk.
The 5K run/walk starts at the Gondola Plaza at Winter Park Resort and competitors will wind their way down the beautiful Fraser River Trail, through green forests and open valleys, through the Town of Winter Park, and, finishing at the Rendezvous Event Center.
The Rendezvous after party will include refreshments, awards, and prize giveaways at Rendezvous Event Center.
Hop on The Lift (Hideaway Park Southbound Stop) and catch a free ride to Winter Park Resort or stop for lunch somewhere downtown.

Celebrate the 4th with a rousing, free concert and light show at the Rendezvous Event Center.  Pack the kids, pack a picnic, and pick your spot to enjoy the evening — you can play cornhole, throw a bocce ball, or jump in the complimentary photo booth. There will be games for all ages to enjoy before the concert. Jam out to DJ Jen G during the light show which will begin after the live band has concluded.
