Pink Vail 2017

We have seen a pink panther on skis, gorillas in pink tutus and men in pink spandex; all of this is not uncommon on Vail Mountain during Pink Vail™ the world’s biggest ski day to Conquer Cancer. This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, March 25, 2017, so SAVE THE DATE!

Pink Vail, an all day event-palooza, features all-day live music, deck parties, a costume contest and incredible prizes. With weekend lodging specials in Vail, girl’s weekenders, families, and groups of friends travel from around the country to Vail, Colorado for an unforgettable weekend at the nation’s largest ski resort.

The patio of Eagle's Nest in Vail is inundated with pink during the 4th annual Pink Vail celebration on Saturday. Pink Vail is the world's biggest ski day to conquer cancer, raising money for local cancer treatment at the Shaw Regional Cancer Center in Edwards.

Pink Vail is one of Vail’s most anticipated events of the season and the only event of its kind. Similar to a run or walk to support cancer, Pink Vail participants register at www.pinkvail.com and ask their friends and family to make a donation on their behalf. Participants range in age from 1 to 85 years old, and many of them don’t even ski on the day of the event. Since 2012, Pink Vail has raised over $2.4 million to benefit all patients at Shaw Regional Cancer Center through enhancements to patient care, funding for its patient assistance fund and underwriting the Spirit of Survival program, which provides complementary services that can dramatically impact quality of life but are not typically covered by insurance.

Three concerts are free to all Pink Vail participants at Golden Peak. In addition, skiers and snowboarders can “deck hop” around three famous Vail Mountain decks for games, music and the chance at incredible prizes. The Costume Contest awards participants for the best individual and group costumes, as well as the “Most Spirited Team.” Top fundraisers are also recognized. Past prizes have included Head skis; Weston snowboards; Helly Hansen gift cards; Maui Jim sunglasses; food, lodging, spa and yoga packages; and more.

Not everybody is wearing Pink! This family is surviving Ovarian Cancer and was treated at Shaw Medical Center

This year, Pink Vail participants will have the opportunity to honor a friend or loved one by skiing or riding in the “Celebration of Life,” a symbolic run in the united fight against cancer. Also, new this year, families can enjoy the Supergoop! Kids Zone with carnival games, prizes and a mechanical bull sponsored by KidSport. With so many fun activities, you don’t even have to ski to participate!
