Vail:

Mardi-Gras, Mountain Style
Pass on N’Awlins and head to Vail for the largest annual Mardi Gras celebration at 8,150 feet above sea level. Don’t miss the merriment, the throws, the Cajun and Creole cuisine and, of course, the Fat Tuesday Parade and Street Party with Frogs Gone Fishin’.

Dates
February 21: Fat Tuesday Parade & Bud Light Street Party, Vail Village, Venue opens at 3pm, Fat Tuesday Parade starts at 4pm followed by a free concert with Frogs Gone Fishin’

Aspen/Snowmass:

Snowmass celebrates Fat Tuesday revelry with one of the biggest Mardi Gras bashes in ski country. This celebration that originated with New Orleans natives themselves starts off with The Mother of All Ascensions – a wild, costumed, 1,741-foot vertical uphill race up Snowmass at the crack of dawn. Nonstop action follows all day long, including King Cake giveaways, a bead and prize throw, crawdad boils, live music, a crazy costumed parade and mask-making and face painting for kids.
