Get Warmed Up for the Autumn Color Run 2014

Get ready for the 30th Buena Vista Autumn Color Run, this run will be held Saturday September 20th.  The leaves are changing and you won’t be disappointed by the views. Offered under a USDA special use permit the ACR boasts one of the best half marathon courses in Colorado. Beginning above Cottonwood Lake the half marathon follows forest service and county roads through aspen trees that are traditionally near their peak on the third weekend of September. Combine the spectacular scenery with the almost 2,000 feet elevation drop over the 13.1 miles and you can start to see why the ACR half marathon sells out every year.  The ACR also features 10K and 5K races and a 1 mile fun run.

The Autumn Color Run is proud to once again support StarPoint and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Chaffee County.  Last year we were able to donate more than $7000 to StarPoint, the Boys & Girls Club, and local Boy Scout Troop 67.  The amazing assortment of home baked goodies, pasta & salad bar, and live music in the park at the finish line help make the ACR a fun event for runners and their families.  Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K runners get a really nice race shirt, and Half Marathon finishers will receive a finisher medallion.  The runner gift bags are bigger and better than ever this year as are the awards for top finishers! Free yoga in the park with BV’s JalaBlu before the race and Bruce Hayes will entertain us all in McPhelemy Park while the runners cross the bridge and finish line.  Get your self registered, visit www.bvautumncolorrun.com for registration and race information.
