Bustang puts the Joy Back into Mountain Transportation

Take the Bustang to the Train to the Plane. Bustang gets you to your next Holiday Escape Stress Free

Growing up in New York I was able to access public transportation that would whisk you almost anywhere on the East Coast. The train station was a block away from my childhood home and I could jump on a train any time of the day or night.

When I moved to Summit County there was a small bus system to get to the ski areas but I had to walk a long way to get it.

Over the years free transportation blossomed in our mountain town communities but finding public transportation to the Front Range was still inaccessible until recently.

This past week I traveled to DIA with the help of CDOT’s Bustang: www.ridebustang.com. I boarded the bus from the Frisco Transfer station and enjoyed a trouble-free ride on a clean and comfortable bus, they even had wifi. The bus offers fantastic views with its large windows and sitting higher than a car you can see down into the gullies and further up into each mountain’s terrain.

Our route stopped in Idaho Springs and Lakewood before arriving at Union Station. The travel time was One Hour and Fifty-Five minutes. This Eastbound route originated in Glenwood Springs and offers five pick-up times in-between 7:10 am and 8:25 pm. The rate from Frisco One-Way is currently $12 for a single pass. A variety of offers are available for purchasing at a reduced rate. www.ridebustang.com/bustang/fares/west/

We arrived at the Union Station bus terminal on time. After disembarking I took a short walk upstairs to the Train Station.

Get off the bus, enter the terminal, and turn right. Walk to the end and take the escalator. At the top walk outdoors, turn left, and then turn left again for the A Train to DIA. There is a kiosk to purchase your ticket or you can download their app to purchase online.

RTD A Line Train to DIA

RTD’s train to DIA brought back memories of NYC commutes with clean comfortable interiors and large windows to take in the scene.

The rate was $10 One Way. Here is a direct link to RTD’s fares: www.rtd-denver.com/fares-passes/fares

I arrived at DIA in 25 Minutes. Once you arrive you can board the escalator up (or take an elevator) and walk directly into the TSA line which was flowing smoothly when I arrived.

Pretty flawless! I know that weather can impact your travels so be aware and check notification pages to stay on top of your day of travel. Then, Enjoy the comfortable convenience.

There are so many routes! Heading to the mountains? Try Snowstang. Bustang is also offering some very cool opportunities to enjoy concerts and special events. Oh and have your heard about Pegasus? Read about them here.
