Celebrate Independence Day with lively entertainment, free activities and dynamic family fun. Breck’s Independence Day celebration kicks off with a 10K trail run and continues throughout the day with the Firecracker 50 bike race leading the vibrant Fourth of July Parade on historic Main Street, July Arts Festival on Ridge Street, live music, kids’ activities and so much more. End the night with the National Repertory Orchestra performing a patriotic concert at the Riverwalk Center with an extraordinary fireworks display to follow.

Independence Day 10K Trail Run – This scenic 10k trail running race offers up some of the best views in the Breckenridge area, while finishing just in time to catch the Main Street parade and other festivities. 7:00 a.m. Register at http://www.townofbreckenridge.com/ or call 970.453.1734.

Fourth of July Garden Party – Annual Breckenridge Heritage Alliance Garden Party at the Barney Ford House Museum. Watch the Breckenridge Fourth of July parade in style from the best view on Main Street. 9:00 a.m. Cost $15/$40/$75 reservations required. Call 970.453.9767 for more information.

Free Concert: Rusted Root – Rusted Root has been creating unique and compelling music with a message for 20 years.  After debuting in 1992 with the self released Cruel Sun, Rusted Root signed with Mercury Records and released the 1994 platinum selling breakthrough When I Woke, which featured the hit songs Send Me On My Way, Ecstasy and Martyr. Not long after, the band scored on tours with Toad the Wet Sprocket, Santana, The Grateful Dead, Dave Matthews Band, The Allman Brothers Band, HORDE Festival and, perhaps most notably, the highly coveted support role on the landmark Jimmy Page/Robert Plant reunion tour. National Repertory Orchestra: 4th of July Patriotic Concert – There is free lawn seating. Tickets are required for indoor seating and will be available in person at the Riverwalk Center Box Office on Thursday, June 30 at noon, no phone or online orders available. 8:30 p.m. at the Riverwalk Center.

Fireworks – 9:30 p.m (weather permitting) can be seen from downtown Breckenridge.
