Steamboat Springs – Rocky Mountain Young Professionals Summit

Something a little different is happening in the town of Steamboat Springs this weekend. There are festivals galore in all of our towns but this weekend young professionals from Routt County and other communities in Colorado, Wyoming and Utah will gather on October 7th& 8th to attend the inaugural Rocky Mountain Young Professionals Summit (RMYPS).

The weekend summit will kick off at 6pm on October 7th with a networking; social hour at Rex’s American Grill & Bar and will continue October 8th at the Sheraton, where three keynote speakers and two breakout panel sessions are scheduled about topics surrounding the theme of balancing young and professional.  Registration fee for the summit is $60.

Titled “Play. Work. Grow. Maximizing the Balance of Young and Professional,” the inaugural event features speakers and panels designed to help those in attendance find that balance. Speakers will address a variety of subjects focusing on personal financial planning, commitment to lifelong learning, healthy living, professional networking, leadership, community involvement and more.

“Our goal is to establish a region-wide summit which provides young professionals the opportunity to connect with each other, learn something and have fun doing it, said Ryan Marsden, a local young professional who has been involved in the planning process.

Those in attendance can expect to benefit from the RMYPS on a personal level as the focus of the topics being discussed will be on them and how to implement changes into their career, their development, their future, their life.

So how old or how young do you have to be to participate? The answer is there is no age limit! If you are young at heart – you are welcome to participate! Although this conference is geared towards working young professionals – they also welcome high school and college students as well as seasoned professionals who might be interested.

A special bonus for those in town for the RMYPS is the incorporation of Tour de Forks. Tour de Forks is a fundraiser which provides two $250 scholarships to graduating Routt County students pursuing higher education.  Local restaurants participate in the fundraiser by offering deals on meals and drink specials. Tour de Forks is a great way to taste the local flavor of Steamboat Springs and visit some great restaurants. Wristbands can be purchased throughout the weekend to allow access to exclusive discounts at participating restaurants.
