Mohawk Lakes- Alpine Lakes and Red Tundra in Breckenridge

First and a foremost! This is a catch and release lake so PLEASE show your love to the hardy fish that inhabit these waters. In addition to the beautiful creatures that inhabit the area this pristine hike in Summit county will knock your socks off with history, massive vistas and beautiful flora and fauna.

Mowhawk Lakes is a 7 Mile trip with an intermediate rating. To access the Trailhead: Drive south out of Breckenridge on U.S. 9. At about 2.4 miles from the last light as you leave Breckenridge you turn right on Spruce Creek Rd. and proceed  for about 1.2 miles to a well marked parking area and the Spruce Creek trailhead.

This is a popular hike for many locals and visitors to the area. Who knows, you may meet some new friends! Be sure to see that they all get back home.
