The Lariat Lodge Brewing Company Offers Amazing Brews and Views Along with a Fantastic Menu

There is no shortage of breweries in Colorado.  We are a state that is very proud of our beer, and we take it seriously.  While I have been to many of them, there are a handful I keep returning to and Lariat Lodge Brewing Company in Evergreen, CO is one of them.  They have two locations, but the Evergreen location in not only fantastic, but it is also historic.

Lariat Lodge Brewing Company is named after the historic Lariat Loop, a 40-mile scenic route from Golden to Evergreen, Lakewood, and Morrison CO.  The building that houses the brewery used to be the owner’s home. Lariat Lodge Brewing Company is Evergreen’s first brewpub, which opened on Halloween of 2015.

On any given Colorado bluebird day, you will find both tourists and locals alike here taking in the incredible view from the restaurant and their open air deck.  It is a great place to stop for Après after your Winter adventuring and cooling down after a great bike ride or hike. You will not only find fantastic beers here, but the food is also a reason to visit.

It’s fun to pair some of their core beers with the food. Just like a wine tasting, beer and certain foods go hand in hand. You must start with Gus’s perfect pretzel paired with the Lazo Mexican Lager (feature image). Made from scratch and served with beer cheese for dipping, this is a staple at the Lariat Lodge Brewing Company and their most popular starter. It is soft, flaky and topped with just the right amount of salt. The pretzel stands out as my favorite, so you simply must order it. The lager was a perfect complement to the pretzel. It was crisp, and smooth, just like a lager should be.

I don’t come to Lariat Lodge Brewing Company without ordering their smoked wings.  They are smoked with their signature rub then fried to perfection. The flavor is different from any other wing I have had. They are delicious, and I always order them with their homemade Root Beer BBQ sauce, but there are many homemade sauces to choose from. Paired with their popular Lazy EyePA, this is another don’t miss when visiting.

If you are looking for something completely unusual, I highly recommend the B.W.B (Brussels with Bacon) salad paired with their Fruit for Thought Sour. The salad is served warm, and topped with shaved Brussel sprouts and Kale, then topped with walnuts, candied peaches, bacon, and Feta cheese. It is a true flavor explosion! The entire bite with the beer chaser will satisfy your sweet, salty, and tangy foodie craving.

There are so many other things to try on the menu at Lariat Lodge (like their amazing red chili), and with 12 beers at any time (6 core beers, and 6 rotating beers), the choices are endless. There is a full bar, it is open from 11am to 9pm and Happy Hour is served from 3 to 6 pm Monday – Friday.
