Snowmass Luminescence, Aspen/Snowmass
We could all use a little more light in our lives these days. And now, when the lifts close at Snowmass, things really brighten up. Snowmass Luminescence, an interactive art and light display brought to you by Snowmass Tourism and Aspen Snowmass, will immerse you and your family in a dazzling world of light and art. Skip the Skittles Gondola ride between the Snowmass Mall and Base Village and, instead, stroll through The Tunnel, an interactive series of LED illuminated walkways and arches that will ignite your senses. In addition, you can experience a large-scale interactive LED installations by acclaimed artists, Wave by Squidsoup and Electric Dandelion by Liquid PLX. Snowmass Luminescence runs from December 17th through February 27th from sunset to 9 p.m. daily.

Game of Stones, Aspen/Snowmass
Curling comes to Snowmass with the new Game of Stones curling series at the Base Village Ice Rink! Fridays and Thursdays starting December 22nd, teams of two will compete in a head to head elimination competition. The first team that reaches 10 points wins!
Game of Stones will take place from 3 pm – 5 pm, registration will occur at the ice skating rink prior to the event.

10th Annual Winterbike, Copper Mountain
Slip, slide, and ride with fun for the whole family at Copper’s 10th annual night-time mountain bike race, WinterBike, presented by Nokian Tyres. Bring your suitable winter bike, helmet, headlamp, and warm winter clothes as you wind your way through Copper. Join the party in Copper’s Center Village following the race with a live DJ, food, beer, and prizes. For younger bikers, the JuniorBike (ages 10-15) course will provide a fun experience with prizes and awards

January 18 – 22, 2023
Purgatory Classic Ski Team Race, Purgatory Resort
Come watch some impressive skiing during this 5-day USSA Super G and Giant Slalom race event.
Wednesday is a training day and “Flight School” with Super G training runs on Upper Hades and “flight training” on Pandemonium.
Thursday is the official sanctioned Super G training day.
Saturday and Sunday are the Giant Slalom race days. This event is open to registered USSA competitors of all ages.
These races are great for spectating and allow ample opportunity to watch the competition unfold.

San Juan Skijoring, Ouray
San Juan Skijoring was founded in 2017 under  the Ouray County Rodeo Association. Our goal was to bring the winter sport of Western Skijoring to Ouray County during the slower winter months. SJS strives to provide an excellent event for not only our competitors but our spectators as well, while boosting the economy in our community. SJS is excited to continue building our local event and is constantly looking for ways to give back to our community, such as contributing to local scholarships

48th Annual Bud Light Cowboy Downhill, Steamboat Resort
Mark your calendars for the 48th annual Bud Light Cowboy Downhill event. It all began over 45 years ago when Billy Kidd, Steamboat’s director of skiing, and Larry Mahan, six-time all-around World Champion cowboy,decided to invite a few of the Pro Rodeo stars to Steamboat for a day of skiing. The cowboys had such a great time that the downhill has become the most popular event of the season with over 100 of the best professional rodeo cowboys competing in the most unique ski rodeo in the country.
Sponsored by Bud Light, the Cowboy Downhill is always scheduled to coincide with the National Western Stock Show in Denver.

28th Annual Ouray Ice Festival & Competition, Ouray
Our annual Ouray Ice Festival, which is our largest fundraising event of the year, spans three days and four nights every January, transforming the town of Ouray into an ice climbing mecca with people from around the world gathering to celebrate the growing sport of ice climbing.
The best part? Every dollar made during our annual Ouray Ice Festival goes directly to funding the operational costs of the Ouray Ice Park so we can continue to build a world-class ice climbing park every year that is free and open to the public!

Skis and Saddles Skijoring, Pagosa Springs
Skijor Pagosa is an adventure competition where horse and rider pull a skier as fast as possible through an obstacle course of jumps, gates and rings.  Skijoring combines Pagosa Country’s finest skiing heritage with its cowboy roots creating a fast and curious spectator’s event. Participants compete for cash and prizes based on the fastest times.  More excitingly, our Skis and Saddles Event will be a great reason to get outside and enjoy southern Colorado’s best kept secret while hanging out with great friends and family.

International Snow Sculpture Championships, Breckenridge
Breckenridge’s International Snow Sculpture Championships presented by Toyota is a world-renowned snow sculpting competition where teams from around the world descend on Breckenridge, Colorado to hand-carve 25-ton blocks of snow into enormous, intricate works of art. Artists are only allowed to use hand tools, creativity and inspiration to bring their ideas to life. No power tools allowed! Teams sculpt countless hours across five days (totaling around 94 hours), resulting in a temporary outdoor art gallery in historic downtown Breckenridge!

U.S. Revolution Tour, Copper Mountain
The U.S. Revolution Tour is a series of events consisting of Halfpipe, Slopestyle and Big Air. This Tour is designed to serve as a stepping stone for athletes making the transition from competing at the grassroots level to the elite level. Entry is based on multiple criteria that pre-qualify U.S. athletes into each competition. The Revolution Tour is focused toward riders age 13-19 years old and awards the top athletes an invite to compete in the U.S. Grand Prix, Junior Worlds, USASA Nationals, and participate in Project Gold camps.
Copper Mountain will be hosting the halfpipe & slopestyle competitions. Spectators are welcome at both venues in designated areas.

Venture was founded in 1999 and all of their boards are crafted by snowboarders in their Silverton, Colorado factory then tested in some of the most demanding terrain in the lower 48.
