Crested Butte Thanks for a Great Weekend! Back to Biz Monday

Back to biz! Monday is usually the day we settle back into our office chairs after a lovely weekend of friends and family. It could be that you took off and spent your days outside or you could have been home attending to things that needed fixing, cleaning or sorting. Monday comes either way and wham, it’s back to the grind.

For a lot of folks in Colorado’s mountain towns & resorts, Monday is a breath of fresh air. Our weekends are their busiest days of work, especially mid-summer and mid-winter. The 9 to 5’ers are playing and all of these town folks are out there working hard to help make their visitors time off special. I played tourist and headed to Crested Butte this weekend, the town was hopping. The Crested Butte Wildflower Week drew hundreds in for a peek at the beauty surrounding this old coal mining town and the Bluegrass Festival was jamming.

Normally a town of 1,500, Crested Butte morphs into a temporary home for thousands during the high season. The local sanitation company could give you an estimate of how many visitors are in town based on toilets flushes, this weekend I know the count was high. Lines were out the door at every restaurant and stores were packed. Hikers and Bikers were not alone in the beauty but everyone’s appreciation for the trail and the view were similar.

I am sure some tempers ran thin and someone was chaffed but there were alot more smiles then frowns. What I would really like to say is thank you to all who made my trip and everyone elses fabulous. Montanya Rum  – your service, rum and food were wonderful! Izzy’s – Great Breakfast! Camp 4 Coffee – you warmed me after being in the rain! Elevation Hotel – thanks for a great view of the Bluegrass event and a lovely room! Crested Butte Mountain Resort – thanks to your staff who were out there braving the elements for the Crested Butte Music Festivals Bluegrass Weekend!  Crested Butte Mountain Guides – Great to meet you and hear about all of your services! Crested Butte Chamber of Commerce – thanks for the info! Wildflower Festival  – Volunteers great job!!  U.S. Forest Service, thanks for keeping the campgrounds clean and protecting our forests. THANK YOU Crested Butte town folk and businesses – for sharing your town!

Now it’s back to biz. Happy Monday everyone, whatever you are doing!
