Meet Brice Hoskin and his new Kickstarter product, The Ganesha Ultralight Stove. This is a small but mighty camping stove that will be hitting the market soon. It is very simple to use and we love how compact it is!
Based out of Crested Butte, Colorado, Brice Hoskin has been working on this project since 2015. His goal was to create a better backpacking stove – one that would burn wood, pine cones, and anything else available. It was critical to him that it be lightweight, fold flat, and burn better than a campfire.
Weighing in at just 7.8 ounces (about the same as a smartphone), it’s an afterthought in your pack. It folds completely flat, and is also offered in a lower-cost stainless steel version. Believe it or not it is lighter than a gas backpacking stove since you do not need to bring a fuel canister.
This stove boils 700ml of water (enough for several cups of your favorite hot beverage) in less than 5 minutes, using readily available sticks and twigs. The Ganesha Ultralight Stove is smokeless, featherlight, and folds flat like a book.
As the days of campfire cooking and heating begin to dwindle due to wildfire dangers this is the perfect stove to pack in for long treks, a day on the trail, or take on the road. A fire-resistant ground cloth helps insulate the ground from deep, destructive heat.
