Statewide Professional Health & Wellness Symposium in Breckenridge
It’s Monday and time to get back to business after a beautiful weekend. We were just recently made aware of the first annual Professional Health and Wellness Symposium that The Northwest Colorado SBDC is hosting next week. On August 13th and 14th the Breckenridge Colorado Mountain College will open there doors to all small businesses and professionals to build resources, gain info & tools to support and cultivate the industry.
The event begins with Colorado Health Links presenting a special “Science of Worksite Wellness Workshop” from 8:30 – 11am. Aimed at Human Resources professionals, Wellness Coaches, and Business Owners, participants will become “Healthy Business” certified. Attendees will learn how to develop successful worksite wellness programs, and become expert resources for wellness in the community.
August 14th will be a day of creative workshops, discussions, and hands on training featuring top speakers in the industry. Attendees will learn how to maximize their participation in the wellness business through courses on setting up a business, accounting and tax tips, how to get the word out, and how to create an abundance mindset. The Symposium is open to all interested parties and particularly those in the wellness industry. This includes both traditional and alternative healthcare along with those involved with outdoor recreation, fitness, natural and healthy food products, health information technology and much more. Attendees will receive expert consultation, networking with industry leaders, opportunities in wealth creation, new skills, great swag and prizes as well as healthy breakfast, lunch and snacks.

There will also be a free health and wellness expo open to the public to highlight local vendors from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 14th. “Colorado’s health and wellness industry is a powerful economic driver for the state,” says Lindsey Stapay, director of the Northwest Colorado SBDC. “We decided to host this event to support this quickly growing marketplace.”
The SBDC is partnering with the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade, Colorado Health Institute, Colorado Health Foundation, Colorado Health Links, the Northwest Colorado Council of Governments, Aspen Clinic, Harmony Health and Colorado Mountain College to hold the two day event.
