Crested Butte to Aspen Hike This Epic Route

The Crested Butte to Aspen hike is a MUST for anyone visiting the area.  Working your way over the Elk Mountain Divide you’ll enjoy stunning views of surrounding peaks including Maroon Bells and Pyramid Peak.  Wildflowers bloom en masse along this route during the months of July and August. You can expect to see meadows of gentian, monkshood, subalpine larkspur, rosy paintbrush, aspen sunflower, parry’s primrose, marsh marigold and mountain bluebells during your hike.  Guarenteed to be an unforgettable day and the highlight of your vacation to the Crested Butte area!

-Total Distance: 11 miles
-Total Time: 6 to 10 hours (depending on your group)
-Elevation Gain: 2,200 feet
-Elevation Loss: 3,000 feet
-High point: 12,500 feet
            

This hike can be done unaided however Crested Butte Mountain Guides  provide professional guide services for a smooth round trip to Aspen and back. Their knowledgeable, skilled guides will show you the way to Aspen via West Maroon Pass starting with a shuttle to the trailhead in the morning and a shuttle ride back to Crested Butte from Aspen that evening. Lunch, a water filtration system (your guide carries this) for use during the day are all included as part of their services.
