2015 Telluride Blues & Brews Festival
The 2015 Telluride Blues & Brews, renowned as one of the most scenic and intimate music festivals in the country, celebrates its 22nd annual year in Telluride on September 18-20, 2015. Blues & Brews brings three days of outstanding music and over 50 regional and national microbreweries to festival patrons. Tickets are still available but three-day and single-day passes are extremely limited.
The 2015 Telluride Blues & Brews Festival is delighted to welcome to Town Park’s Main Stage headliners ZZ Top, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, and Gregg Allman. Additional Town Park performances will include the Taj Mahal Trio, John Hiatt & the Combo, Anders Osborne, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Blackberry Smoke, The Revivalists, Rich Robinson, Otis Taylor’s Hey Joe Opus, Tab Benoit, Anders Osborne, The Bright Light Social Hour, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, and many more.
This year — in addition to performances on Town Park’s Main Stage — patrons can enjoy another jam-packed lineup on the ‘Blues Stage’, located inside Telluride’s state-of-the-art venue, The Hanley Pavilion. Blues-rock performances will include Rich Robinson of the Black Crowes, Hillstomp, and The London Souls. Comedy performances will include Troy Walker, Brent Gill, Stephen Agyei, and Adam Cayton-Holland.
Additionally, there will be exclusive Campground Sessions for campers by Hillstomp, Leo “Bud” Welch, and Eagle Eye Williamson in an intimate setting next to the campground’s Lower Bear Creek Falls.
The music will continue into the night at five late-night Juke Joint venues. Friday and Saturday Juke Joint passes allow access to all late-night venues for each night purchased. On Sunday, the historic Sheridan Opera House will host the Fais do-do closing celebration featuring The Revivalists. Tickets for late-night shows are limited so don’t wait to purchase!
The festival will kick off with the fifth annual Sunset Blues Concert, Thursday, Sept. 17th at 5:00 p.m. in Mountain Village’s Sunset Plaza. Free and open to the public, the event will feature Hillstomp and The Johnson County Coroners. Here is at the entire weekend’s lineup:
Along with a spectacular weekend of music, Telluride Blues & Brews will feature The Grand Tasting on Saturday, Sept. 19th from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. One of the premier beer tasting events in the Southwest, the Grand Tasting features more than 170 beers from over 50 microbreweries, including Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, Blues and Brews’ official beer sponsor.
This year, Blues & Brews is thrilled to announce additional events and amenities, including a film premiere, a festival art gallery, a live festival painter, yoga classes, costume contests and much more.
On Wednesday, Sept. 16th at 7:30 p.m. join Telluride Blues & Brews Festival, KOTO-FM’s DJ Jimmy Jazz, the Hotel Telluride, and the Palm Theater for the film premiere of ‘This Ain’t No Mouse Music!’ at Telluride’s Palm Theater. The event is a fundraiser for San Miguel Resource Center, preventing domestic violence and sexual assault.
The Telluride Blues & Brews Festival’s Art Gallery will be at Arroyo Wine Bar & Gallery, located at 220 E. Colorado Ave. We encourage attendees to stop by, have a beverage, light bites and enjoy artwork from festival photographers Barry Brecheisen & Dino Perrucci, and artists Daryl Price, and Scramble Campbell, among paintings from other past festival poster artists. The Gallery will be open daily for the festival weekend Thursday through Sunday at 7:00 a.m.
Telluride Blues & Brews is excited to welcome Colorado’s favorite performance painter Keith ‘Scramble’ Campbell to the festival, where he will paint to the music throughout the weekend.
Be sure to join Blues & Brews and Telluride Yoga Fest for Telluride Yoga Sessions. Festival guests can enjoy free yoga classes for all skill levels in Elk’s Park each Saturday and Sunday morning during the festival.
Don’t miss the Sharp Dressed Fan Costume Contest on Friday, Sept. 18th. Dress like ZZ Top, your favorite “little ol’ band from Texas”, for a chance to win TWO 2016 Blues & Brews Festival weekend passes.
Additional festival highlights include food and craft vendors, the House of Brews tent featuring various craft beers, the Telluride Blues Challenge, Project Shelter’s onsite camping gear, and the Rainbow Kids area.
Three-day, single-day, and Juke Joint (late-night) passes are currently on sale and quantities are extremely limited. Three-day passes are $185 each, Friday and Sunday single-day passes are $65 each, and Saturday single-day passes are $70 each. Juke Joint passes are $25 per night. Festival camping takes place next to festival grounds on Thursday through Sunday. Four-day camping passes cost $40 per person. Kids 12 and under are admitted free when accompanied by an adult.
