USA PRO CYCLING CHALLENGE STAGE 5: Breckenridge to Colorado Springs Racing & Festivities

The USA Pro Cycling Challenge is taking off in Breckenridge and heading to Colorado Springs! Folks, this stage race is going to be fast and furious.

BRECKENRIDGE

10:50AM Race Start Downtown Breckenridge

After a few miles of neutral start laps in Breckenridge, the racers will face the daunting 10-mile climb of Hoosier Pass to 11,500 feet. After the pass, a fast descent will take the race into Fairplay. Then, the face of the stage changes entirely. The high mountains are left behind and the sprinters and breakaway specialists will be able to roar to life and light up the race across the rolling terrain on their way to Woodland Park.

  • Ripstoke Trials and Mountain Bike Stunt Show — There will be four different shows that will last approximately a half hour, starting at 11:30 AM, 12:30 PM, 1:30 PM, and 2:30 PM. These shows will take place on the Riverwalk Center lawn and in the river beside the lawn.
  • Watch the rest of stage 5 on the outdoor big screen – 11am-4pm; Riverwalk Center Lawn
  • FREE Maceo Parker concert – doors open at 4pm, show starts at 4:30pm; Riverwalk Center

Descending into Woodland Park, the racers may hit their fastest speeds of the week at the downhill sprint line, then continue downhill to Colorado Springs in the shadow of Pikes Peak where they face a technical uphill run through Garden of the Gods park, a revisit of the roads of last year’s prologue.

COLORADO SPRINGS

From the red rocks of the park, it is a quick downhill run to the only finishing circuits of this year’s race. The teams and sprinters will have three chances to see the finish line as they course through downtown Colorado Springs.
