Tubbs Romp Ready to Stomp Out Breast Cancer
Coloradans, if you are looking for something fun to do outdoors while giving back to local communities then the Tubbs Romp to Stomp Out Breast Cancer Snowshoe Series® on Saturday, March 7 at the Frisco Nordic Center is for you. The Tubbs Romp to Stomp is the largest snowshoe series in the world and has raised more than $2.8 million for the Susan G. Komen® and Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation™. What is even more astounding is that the Colorado Romp alone has raised more than $1 million to benefit Susan G. Komen Colorado. In 2014, the Denver Komen affiliate merged with the Aspen Komen affiliate to form Susan G. Komen Colorado, which serves 72 percent of Colorado’s population in a 22-county service area. Seventy-five percent of net proceeds raised by Komen Colorado are invested in local communities, such as Frisco, in the form of grants to 28 organizations such as the Summit Community Care Clinic and Rocky Mountain Rural Health. Since 2004, the Summit Community Care Clinic has performed more than 2,000 breast cancer screening mammograms and diagnostic procedures. You can continue supporting local communities, celebrate breast cancer survivors and honor loved ones lost at the Romp to Stomp on March 7 at the Frisco Nordic Center, located at 616 Recreation Way in Frisco. The event consists of a 3-kilometer or 5K snowshoe walk, 3K snowshoe race and a Lil Romper Dash for participants 12 years of age and under. We will see you there with our Tough Girl Tutu on, ready to have some fun and support this incredible cause! ~MTN Town Magazine Photo Credits: Featured Image- Kay Beaton Photography | Bottom Image: Susan B.
