Santa Claus Has Been Sneaking Away…to Ski and Snowboard
We just got word from Colorado Ski Country USA that Santa Claus has been spotted sneaking away from the Toy Factory to get some turns in throughout Colorado and Colorado Ski Country USA resorts. We don’t blame him! We have had fantastic conditions and believe in the Powder Day rule too!
Santa sure is making the rounds, he has been spotted all over. Check out where he has been and where you might find him once he is done delivering presents all around the world:
Arapahoe Basin
Santa dropped by Arapahoe Basin to take a few turns telemarking, a form of skiing where the heel is free from the bindings. We hear Santa will be taking a few more runs to double check his naughty-or-nice list on Christmas Eve morning.
Granby Ranch
Skiers and riders at Granby Ranch can look forward to skiing with Santa in the afternoon of December 23rd and again during night skiing. He’ll even be giving out candy canes!
Loveland Ski Area
Skiing Santa will visit Loveland Ski Area on December 24th and 25th. He’ll hit the slopes at Loveland Basin and Loveland Valley with treats for children of all ages.
Monarch Mountain
Santa is also expected to be at Monarch Mountain resort, near Salida, on Christmas Eve morning. Little ones (with lift tickets or a season pass) are invited to hang out with Santa as he skis the mountain and spreads Christmas cheer.

Purgatory
Santa and Mrs. Claus have been spotted at Purgatory this season as well. Kids of all ages can also enjoy the Inferno Mountain Coaster, guided snowshoe tours, and the tubing hill, which all open for the season Christmas Eve.
Steamboat
In Steamboat, powder-covered slopes all converge at the new Skeeter’s Ice Rink. The newly-updated Steamboat Square is the perfect place for après activities like ice skating. The rink is free to the public with their own skates and skate rentals are available.
Sunlight Mountain Resort
At Sunlight, Santa Claus, the one and only person in the world allowed to load the lifts without a valid season pass, was seen making good on Sunlight Mountain Resort’s Free Pass For Santa Claus policy. The jolly ole fellow visited Sunlight the weekend that the resort celebrated 55 years of operation in Glenwood Springs. Free hot cocoa for the kids.
Hopefully, we will all find some skis and snowboards under the tree this year. Have a very Merry Christmas everyone! See you and Santa out on the slopes.
