Keystone Neighbourhood Company’s Blue Ribbon Bacon Tour
Bacon! Bacon – Bacon – Bacon and there is going to be a lot of it in Keystone, Colorado. Will 3,000 lbs. help your craving? If so then Keystone Neighbourhood Company’s Blue Ribbon Bacon Tour has what you need with mouth-watering items like the Bonnie Q BLT, bacon mac-n-cheese, the “Elvis” chocolate, bacon and peanut butter sheet cake and just plain old sizzling bacon strips. There are dishes here that I have never even thought about before but man are they GOOD!
Keystone Neighbourhood Company’s Blue Ribbon Bacon Tour is celebrating its fifth anniversary June 27-28 Tasting tickets are just $4 per taste. With festival packages like the Piglet for the littlest bacon lovers starting at just $20 all the way up to the full meal deal, Hungry Hog, you’ll find a ticket for your appetite.
“Every year the Blue Ribbon Bacon Tour at Keystone’s River Run Village has grown in size and popularity,” says Maja Russer, Keystone Neighbourhood Company’s Director of Marketing and Events “Our festival has become a must-attend event in Colorado and has tripled in attendance, attracting bacon lovers from around the world.”
To quench your thirst, try Colorado’s Largest Bacon Bloody Mary Bar, with plenty of “fixins”, including bacon, of course. There will be beer, as well an expanded selection of Whiskeys to pair with your bacon dishes. New this year, the best bacon dish will be awarded in both the “sweet” and the “savory” categories and, the very popular bacon-eating contest, sponsored by Farmland, returns to the main stage on Saturday.
If you love bacon – and we mean, if you really love bacon – enroll in the Bacon Education Center and learn everything about bacon from bacon preparation and processing to the history of the beloved meat. Other free BEC seminars include bacon mixology and Whiskey sessions, as well as cooking demonstrations with Lucky’s Market. For the ultimate bragging rights, earn your certified Bacon Diploma at Bacon U. It’s free to all.
Keep the sizzle going with Hell’s Belles. They return for their 5th appearance at the festival, becoming a staple in the rocking free music line-up. The all-female AC/DC cover band will have attendees shakin’ their bacon so to speak. Joining Hell’s Belles in the concert line-up are Gipsy Moon, Rob Drabkin, Josh Blackburn and Arthur Lee Land.
Everyone loves a selfie especially when you can win free bacon. Yes, we’re talking free bacon for a year. The Bacon Selfie Contest sponsored by Farmland returns this year. Tag your selfies with the Festival’s official hashtag #keystonebacon and the best selfie photo posted on social will bring home the bacon – a free year’s worth of Farmland bacon. Say cheese. (and then load up for another serving of mac n’ cheese with bacon)
All that eating and rocking will be for a great cause benefiting The Friends of the Dillon Ranger District, a local nonprofit that protects our National Forest land. The Keystone Neighbourhood Company donates a portion of the proceeds to a local nonprofit every year.
