Trailhead Tuesday – Spring Snow, Buena Vista
Join us for another Trailhead Tuesday on March 10th from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at The Trailhead gear store, 402 East Main Street in Buena Vista, Colorado. This event is well-attended, so bring your own camp chair and consider coming early to grab food and a drink from Simple Eatery next door. This free event builds skills, sparks conversation, and connects people who love the mountains.
This session focuses on spring conditions and wet snow avalanches. As winter gives way to spring, we’ll explore the unique challenges and opportunities that come with this transition in the Colorado mountains. ACES Wild Perspectives | Don’t Pack Your Fears: A Camino Story, Carbondale
Wild Perspectives, launched in January 2020, provides an opportunity for community-building and story-telling, brought to you by ACES in partnership with The Collective. Don’t Pack Your Fears is a story of finding faith in humanity, virtue, disco, and ultimately, oneself. If you’ve ever wondered, “what’s The Camino all about?,” this presentation is for you. Nellie is an Artist and Educator living and working in the RFV. In both teaching and painting her work is centered in light, imagination, and storytelling. Like Aspen, Nellie prides herself on being fiercely local and global. For the last two summers, Nellie has been an ACES educator and is honored to have the opportunity to connect with the ACES community again!

Bubble Gum Ski Race Series, Frisco
Enjoy some friendly competition among kids at the 12th Annual Bubble Gum Race Series on six Wednesdays in February and March at the Frisco Adventure Park and presented by Team Summit.
From the “never ever” to seasoned racer, all levels are encouraged to compete in this free non-competitive, community race series; this is an ideal race series for kids who are eight and younger.
Racers will have the chance to race the course multiple times and racers will not be timed, but instead racers will be given three (3) pieces of bubble gum. Each piece of bubble gum acts as a “ticket” to race. Racers will give it to the person at the start of the course to race, and if they win, they will get a piece of bubble gum.

Salomon Demo Day, Purgatory Resort

Town Challenge Ascent Series, Steamboat Resort
The Steamboat Ascent Series is a winter ski mountaineering event series. The series is part of the Town Challenge, which also includes a mountain bike race series in the summer.
The Steamboat Ascent Series features multiple races with courses for all ability levels. After completing a race, participants can celebrate at Los Locos, which offers food and drink discounts and a sponsor raffle.
The 2025/2026 series will include five races and four divisions: Junior, Sport, Splitboard, and Pro/Open.

The Telluride Mountain Club, in partnership with the Telluride Foundation, is hosting the sixth annual Skidola, Telluride’s winter uphill race, on March 14th, 2026. The Skidola is an open-registration, on-snow uphill race from the town of Telluride to the San Sophia Ridge. Racers can compete using microspikes, snowshoes, skis, or splitboards. This is a family-friendly race, welcoming both competitive racers and those who just want to have fun!
All proceeds benefit the Telluride Mountain Club’s PI Avy Fund and its mission to expand avalanche education and backcountry user awareness in the San Juan Mountains.

2026 America’s Uphill, Aspen
The America’s Uphill begins at the base of Little Nell and climbs 3267 feet up the Aspen Mountain ski area finishing at the Sundeck Restaurant at an elevation of 11,212 feet. The annual Breckenridge Fly Fishing Film Tour is a benefit event offering a traveling roadshow of the best fly fishing films in the world. This is the 20th annual Fly Fishing Film Tour (F3T), offering a top notch selection of short films that are sure to get you fired up for the season ahead. The F3T is the original and largest fly fishing film event of its kind.
While the event is a collection of great cinematography, the BreckF3T aims to create community and kick-off the 2026 fly angling season right by supporting disabled veterans, educational fishing programs for local and visiting children, high school stream ecology education and local conservation efforts.

Telluride Skijoring is a free, family-friendly winter event that brings the high-energy sport of skijoring right to Main Street. Skiers and snowboarders are pulled behind horses down a snow-packed course on East Colorado Avenue, racing through gates, and flying over jumps in an exciting display of horsemanship and athleticism. Across the weekend, spectators can watch novice runs that introduce newcomers to the sport, plus advanced skills demonstrations from seasoned teams, all while enjoying Telluride’s historic downtown and local businesses. First Tracks, Purgatory Resort

The Shamrock Shuffle Snowshoe Race, Vail
The Annual Vail Recreation District Krueger Family Shamrock Shuffle 5K and 10K races and the kids’ 1K fun run will celebrate all things green in the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day!
Taking place on the Vail Nordic Center trails, the event includes two race categories – snowshoes and running (with or without traction devices). The race will be followed immediately by a lively post-race party in the Gore Range Room at the Vail Golf & Nordic Clubhouse.

Enjoy some friendly competition among kids at the 12th Annual Bubble Gum Race Series on six Wednesdays in February and March at the Frisco Adventure Park and presented by Team Summit.
From the “never ever” to seasoned racer, all levels are encouraged to compete in this free non-competitive, community race series; this is an ideal race series for kids who are eight and younger.
Racers will have the chance to race the course multiple times and racers will not be timed, but instead racers will be given three (3) pieces of bubble gum. Come be a part of history! Banked slaloms have a renowned place in the saga of snowboarding—it all began in 1985 with the Mt. Baker Legendary Banked Slalom, the longest-running snowboard competition in North America. This year, Powderhorn is honored to present our second annual Duke’s Ditch Banked Slalom, a new event created to draw our snowboarding community closer together. The Duke’s Ditch Banked Slalom is named in honor of the late, great Duke Taylor, who was instrumental in making snowboarding accessible to the Western Slope. This race course will be built through the cooperative efforts our staff and volunteer racers. Through this event, our shared passion for standing sideways boosts sportsmanship, camaraderie, recognition, and growth for boardin’ culture in Western Colorado. So condition those quads, tune your board, and get ready to drag knuckles… we’re absolutely thrilled by the opportunity to kick off our own banked slalom tradition, Wild West style!
We will also be hosting Vintage Day on Saturday during the Banked Slalom event. Experience snowboard history up close! Pash N Burn, Steamboat Resort
The first Slash and Burn came to life in 2014 with a collaboration between the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club and Powder Tools, and now today, it is all grown up and is one of the biggest banked slalom events in the U.S. This event has been bringing together the best in the industry along with the best riders in the world, celebrating the entire snowboard community. Open to any snowboarder with a groms-only (under 18) day on Sunday.
We have changed the name to The Pash & Burn Banked Slalom, an ode to Alex Pashley, one of the founders of the event, and more widely loved Snowboard Industry professionals. We lost Pashley last season in the backcountry while he was out doing what he did best – hyping up riders through encouragement, shit talking, laughs, and his contagious love for snowboarding.
This coming season we are going to be raising money in Pashley’s name to be donated to Routt County Search & Rescue + Teton County Search & Rescue, two organizations that were important to him.

Fat Tire, Chill Foundation and Loveland Ski Area team up to bring back what has easily become one of Loveland’s most popular events, the Loveland Scavenger Hunt presented by Fat Tire! SHIFRUNS for ALS, Vail
Join the 8th annual SHIFRUNS, a 20-run ski/snowboard challenge held annually on Vail Mountain in Colorado, in memory of Brian G. Shifrin. Brian fought his ALS battle for 2.5 years with strength, peace, humor and Billy Joel. SHIFRUNS was created by his sister, Pam Shifrin (a Vail local), in hopes to create ALS awareness and raise money to help with his care.
Every year, participants hit the slopes at their own pace, wherever they choose on Vail Mountain. Steady’s Deck, just west of the top of chair 2(Avanti), is the homebase. Feel free to leave things there, come back to rest, or enjoy complimentary Village Bagel bagels, snacks and drinks! We are proud to tell you that we are 100% run by volunteers and all proceeds from this event go directly to supporting ALS warriors and research.
