I feel like I just recovered from the July 4th Holiday Week and then I see all of these fabulous events and get excited for the coming weekend! I am actually packing up and getting ready for the Crested Butte Wildflower Festival. I have wanted to attend for years – finally! I will let you know how it goes. Crested Butte Wildflower Festival, Gunnison/Crested Butte
The Crested Butte Wildflower Festival is set for July 9-15, 2012. Visitors also can enjoy the many other activities that draw people to Gunnison-Crested Butte throughout the season. Crested Butte is located in the West Elk range of the Rocky Mountains. Mountain biking, hiking, sightseeing, whitewater rafting, kayaking, horseback riding, boating and fishing are among the favorites. In addition, visitors can dine at the area’s fine restaurants and shop at local galleries, boutiques and outfitters. Sunset Concert Series, Telluride
New Riders of the Purple Sage – In its 13th year, the series brings an impressive lineup to town; a mix of Blues, Bluegrass, Funk, Americana, Rock and more. The party happens at Sunset Plaza, on the lawn near Lift 1 in the center of Mountain Village. The bands start at 6:00 p.m. every Wednesday from July 11 through August 29 and they play rain or shine. http://www.tmvoa.org/

Town Challenge Mountain Bike Race Series – Race 4 (Sunshine Loop XC), Steamboat Springs
The Steamboat Town Challenge is a seven race mountain bike series held every summer. Both hill-climb and cross-country events are included, with classes for all categories and ages of riders. Registration will be accepted online or at the Parks, Open Space & Recreational Services office Monday – Thursday 7:30am-5:30pm, except for race days. Registration will be accepted on race day at the race-site only.
Any volunteer who can work a minimum of six races from start to finish will receive cool schwag and a t-shirt. For more information please visit www.townchallenge.com/

Steamboat Springs Pro Rodeo Series, Steamboat Springs
A PRCA-sanctioned rodeo series, every Friday and Saturday from June 15th through August 18th, with a special performance on July 4th at 6:30 pm followed by a fireworks display. The Steamboat Springs Pro Rodeo Series is the most successful weekly rodeo in the country. Gates open at 5:30 pm, the BBQ starts at 6:00 p.m. and runs until 9:30 p.m. Pre-Rodeo entertainment appears on the entertainment stage from 6:15 p.m. until 7:15 p.m. The Rodeo begins at 7:30 pm. Hardrock 100 Endurance Run, Telluride
The Hardrock 100 Endurance Run is a 100 mile run whose course makes a big loop through the San Juan Mountains of beautiful southwest Colorado: 100-miles which includes 33,992 feet of climb and 33,992 feet of descent for a total elevation change of 67,984 feet with an average elevation of 11,186 feet – low point 7,680 feet (Ouray) and high point 14,048 feet (Handies Peak). Boat Show, Grand Lake
The Rocky Mountain Classics Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society is having their annual boat show is Grand Lake. Boats will start arriving on Friday afternoon and be on display at the town dock from 9:00 am to noon. We will parade around the lake at noon provided the weather permits.

XTERRA returns to Beaver Creek in Avon, CO for the 2012 XTERRA Mountain Championship.
Beaver Creek XTERRA’s off road triathlon includes a mile swim in Nottingham Lake in Avon, a mountain bike up and across Beaver Creek Mountain, gaining 2,000 vertical feet in the first five miles, plus a challenging run that climbs 1,300 vertical. The XTERRA is open to all ability levels with individual and team categories. There is also the free kids’ duathlon at Beaver Creek. Cheer on your favorite elite athletes or join them.
