Because Sometimes You Need a Vacation From Your Phone!
It is pretty pathetic when you cannot remember the last time you took a vacation. So I guess you could say that I probably could use one. On a whim I went for it and took a few days to disconnect from the real world. It’s hard to find a place where your phone will not work. We are all so accessible. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week most of us keep our phone 3ft or less away from our hands. Being so connected is a blessing and a burden and I highly recommend a respite.
Lake Powell is one area you can truly become unreachable. Deep canyons and miles and miles of waterways will remove you briefly from the insanity that daily living can bring. Clients, school, chores, errands, family and friends (we love them of course) place so much pressure on us at times. The opportunity to turn off the phone does not happen often and many feel that we as a whole are losing ourselves to our phone.
So for a few days I took on the challenge of disconnecting and remembered that every year I try to do something that removes me from my comfort zone. I met that challenge in several ways and will begin reporting on my newest passion – Stand Up Paddleboarding! I am in love with this new sport and look forward to sharing it with you.
