One of the things we love about Rancho del Rio site is its incredible proximity to the river. The headwaters of the Colorado River offer 1st-class whitewater rafting, kayaking, canoeing and trout fishing. The festival site has direct river access for rafters, fishermen, and kayakers, giving you the freedom to enjoy the best Colorado has to offer – including this year’s YarmonyGrass!
YARMONYGRASS ACTIVITIES:
FLOAT ON THE RIVER:
YarmonyGrass offers a plethora of daytime activities for those seeking unparalleled outdoor adventure coupled with an unforgettable live music experience. Once again we’ll be setting our Yarmony Pirate sails on the Colorado River as trips will be departing all weekend long through our friends at the Colorado River Center. Grab a boatload of your craziest Pirate friends and prepare to have the time of your life as you raft from Pumphouse down the Colorado River basin through Yarmony rapid to arrive at one of the greatest parties the Colorado River has ever seen! Or hang out in Dinosaur eddy all day, enjoying live music, beach parties, water olympics, spontaneous jams, and much much more…
YOGA:
YarmonyGrass yoga brings joy, compassion, and kindness to morning yoga. Yarmony classes are aimed at supporting you in being the best person you can be, not just physically but also spiritually and emotionally. Yoga is more than just exercise — if you put your heart into it, it can completely transform your life and the way you see the world.
STAGECOACH HIKE:
Join us for a short jaunt up the historic Stagecoach road located at the back of Rancho del Rio. The road was used to connect people to Steamboat Springs and went out of service around 1907. Once you reach the top, you’ll have an amazing 250 degree view of the valley, overlooking the festival site and the Colorado River. You’ll be joined by one of our guides who will give you background on the rich cultural history of the area, beginning with the Ute and Shoshone Tribes. The hike has a considerable uphill climb. In addition, there are steep portions of the trail. Thus, we suggest that only children over the age of 10 participate on this hike.
DINOSAUR FOSSIL HIKE:
Join us for a two-hour hike across the river from the festival site. Yarmony Mountain and the Colorado River Basin are rich in geologic history. Look down and you will most likely find a dinosaur bone or shark tooth along the river bank. Look up and you’ll spy a 100 million year-old geologic feature on the south side of Yarmony Mountain. Add to that a short hike to some well-preserved dinosaur footprints in the sandstone, and you’ve got yourself a guided tour.
