Vail Summer Bluegrass Series Returns with a Robust Lineup
Summertime in Vail offers no shortage of entertainment and fun, on-mountain and in town. Mountain biking. Trout fishing. The Epic Discovery Course. Tubing (yes, summer tubing). One of Town’s hidden gems for the past five summers has been the Vail Summer Bluegrass Series, which has hosted a number of world-class artists including the Travelin’ McCourys, Tyler Childers, Oteil Burbridge (Dead & Company), Sarah Jarosz and more.
2019 Lineup
Heading into its 6th summer and first performance on June 26, Vail Bluegrass is proud to host a robust lineup of mostly Colorado-based artists. The 2019 series kicks off next Wednesday with a headlining performance by Trout Steak Revival with support from Denver’s Chain Station.
On July 3, Jeremy Garrett (of the Infamous Stringdusters) will be joined by an all-star cast including Drew Emmitt (Leftover Salmon), Adam Aijala (Yonder Mountain String Band), Adrian “Ace” Engfer (the Grant Farm) and banjo virtuoso Ryan Cavanaugh with support by Vail locals Meadow Mountain. Appalachian bluegrassers and the only non-Colorado natives, the Hackensaw Boys stop in Vail in part of their 20th Anniversary tour along with Steamboat’s Jay Roemer Band on July 10.
Closing the series on July 17 will be a triple bill of Colorado’s best rising bluegrass bands, the Lonesome Days, the Sweet Lillies and Avenhart. All Vail Bluegrass bands are open and available for interviews.

Our goal is to continue digging, uncovering new opportunities to provide affordable entertainment, culture and a weeknight to-do for residents and visitors alike, and our 2019 programming falls exactly within that wheelhouse,” shared Ariel Rosemberg, Vail Bluegrass Producer.
New Location
As previously reported, Vail Bluegrass is also excited to announce a move to Solaris Plaza in the heart of Vail Village. Tony Herrera, Director of Operations at Bol shared,
“We are excited to announce and partner with Vail Bluegrass in the Solaris Plaza. With our centralized location in Vail Village, we feel this is a great opportunity for the community and visitors to enjoy great music, and a fun atmosphere on our lawn space. Vail Bluegrass has a proven track record and [we] couldn’t be more excited to host this year, and for years to come.”
The Vail Summer Bluegrass Series is free to attend, and all shows run from 6 – 9 p.m. Additionally and alongside a partnership with Vail Brewing Company, Vail Bluegrass is excited to present a free taproom series at the VBC taproom in Vail Village. The taproom series will feature each week’s headliner in an intimate, unplugged setting including a short set of music and some Q&A.
