Colorado Mtn Town Weekend Weather

Brilliant sun should grace our next few days. From the satellite pic you can see the arching path of the jet stream bringing in a cooler NW wind flow. An approaching NW coastal storm will shift the upper winds to a westerly flow and by the end of the weekend southwest. This will cut off the cooler air flow and a warming trend will greet us over the weekend.

Of course every warming trend this time of the year is followed by some sort of storm and indeed next week we’ll see a series of fast moving storms travelling from the SW to the NE over Colorado. So chances of snow increases next week  along with great lenticular cloud formation watching along the divide. My favorite!
