Surf Culture has Washed Up in Carbondale with the Opening of Mountain Tide Provision Co. on Historic Main Street

Sure, the ocean is a thousand miles away, but step inside and you’ll feel a fresh wave of coastal energy mixing with mountain-town style. Think coveted brands, beach-inspired goods, and crossover pieces that look just as good on a hike up Red Hill as they do on a boardwalk stroll.
The shop is the vision of Greg Morrison, who’s been in the industry for 25 years and always dreamed of a space that’s more than just racks and shelves. His co-pilot? Daughter Sage, a senior at Roaring Fork High School, who brings endless ideas—color palettes, social media, events, you name it. Together, they’ve built a two-level, 2,000-square-foot space that’s part boutique, part hangout spot, and 100% Carbondale.
Inside, you’ll find lifestyle clothing, footwear, accessories, gifts, jewelry, and home goods. Brands like Faherty, Rhythm, Finisterre, Hikerkind, and Autry mingle with hard-to-find favorites—Free People, Pendleton, Reef, Katin, Sorel, Jetty—the kind of mix that makes you linger a little longer just to see what’s tucked on the next shelf.
But Mountain Tide is more than shopping. Greg and Sage are dialed into the valley’s creative vibe, inspired by the Carbondale Creative District, and they’re giving back too—donating 1% of all sales to local nonprofits that keep our community thriving.
And don’t think this is just an in-store thing. Sage has the digital side covered, running lively social feeds, planning newsletters, and even shaping the brand’s look while juggling school. “It’s pretty surreal to be 16 and already part of something like this,” she says. “But I’m always learning—and it’s fun to see people connect with what we’re doing.”
Between in-store events, appearances at Mountain Fair and First Fridays, and an online shop with global shipping, Mountain Tide is setting sail right from the Rockies. Coastal cool meets mountain soul—right here in downtown Carbondale.
