Limelight Boulder – Vacation, Staycation, Valentines Day Escape

Winter and Spring are the perfect time for a vacation in Colorado. Whether you are a tourist or local, Boulder is such a fun place to get away to for a staycation or vacation. Limelight Boulder recently opened and adds to the list of incredible hotels in this infamous mountain town.
Limelight Boulder is a modern airy hotel that sits in the University Hills neighborhood of the city. It is an easy walk or bike to downtown for shopping, dining, or just sight-seeing. Within the hotel there is the famous restaurant, Ajax Tavern and over 15,000 sq ft of ballroom space for special events. If you are attending a CU Boulder football game, Limelight Boulder is the perfect place to stay, as it sits right on campus. With 210 rooms and 42 suites, this addition to the city was something I had to go check out, so I planned a little staycation for myself.
The rooms, and the lobby of the hotel are stunning. I was pleasantly surprised that my mountain view room had a Lavazza coffee maker, a SMEG refrigerator, and one of the comfiest beds I have ever experienced in a hotel.
The next afternoon I ventured out for brunch at Foolish Craigs on Pearl Street, which is within walking distance from The Limelight, but I decided to take advantage of the Audi Experience at the hotel. This is a huge perk of Limelight. You can test drive an Audi Q7 for up to 2 hours to tour around Boulder. It was super fun, and a great way to see the best the Boulder has to offer.
Foolish Craigs on the famous Pearl Street is an institution in Boulder and a fabulous place for breakfast, brunch or lunch. You must try the Corned Beef Hash. Made in house, it’s a letter straight from the delis of New York, and out of this world!
After brunch, I did some shopping and headed back to the hotel for some relaxation. The rooftop pool captures the warmth of the sun with terrific views.
For dinner, I decided to go check out the Ajax Tavern in the hotel and was not disappointed. Ajax Tavern is true Après, any day. They are known for their Wagyu Double Cheeseburger, and fresh oysters. The cheeseburger was award- worthy, a must try when dining there. They are open for breakfast, lunch, brunch and dinner. The adjacent lobby bar is bustling and connects to an outdoor area to catch that bluebird day Colorado sun.
With Valentine’s Day coming up, Limelight Boulder has something special, a Heart Centered Wellness Retreat – February 14th &15th. The weekend will be led by celebrity healer Jon Wing Flower and presented in partnership with Nandi Somantics. The retreat will focus on nervous system regulation, and a physical reset. Guests will move through treatments such as lymphatic drainage, red-light therapy and much more. This is a perfect weekend for couples or a bunch of your girlfriends to celebrate a healthy Valentines or Galantines Day.
