Colorado Mountain Weather – Summer Storms A-Plenty

Once again last night’s storm was one for the memory banks. Non stop lightning, booming thunder, and flash flood rains. Sorry to all the pets that don’t like the weather (as I own one too) but it was mother nature at it’s best. Wow what a show! Anyway, more on tap for today with monsoonal flow kicking in this afternoon. Energy in the atmosphere remains high so the chance of big storms will again be with us. Some drying tomorrow but t-storms are with us for the foreseeable future!

The water vapor shot shows the plume of moisture from Mexico well entrenched. Axis is a little west of us but winds will slam the moisture up against the mountain ranges and this uplift will again fuel pm storms. Get out early and marvel at how green and how many blossums are out!
