Celebrate the Beauty of the Summer Season in Breckenridge with their first Wildflower Week July 2 – 12, 2026
Be dazzled by mother nature’s summer wildflower display! Colorado’s iconic mountain town will debut its first-ever Breckenridge Wildflower Week, a new festival celebrating the height of wildflower blooms July 2 – 12, 2026. Theevent will feature free guided wildflower hikes, free live music, plein air painting classes, floral cocktails and mocktails, family-friendly bike rides and more – all inspired by Breckenridge’s vibrant alpine wildflower season and the opportunity to involve attendees in environmental education and stewardship.
Wildflower meadows will come alive with guided wildflower hikes hosted by Breckenridge Open Space and Trails (OST), concerts in nature from the National Repertory Orchestra and Breck Create’s wildflower-inspired arts classes taking place in wildflower meadows featuring plein air watercolor painting, glass-blowing and mosaic making.
Other Wildflower Week activities include a craft and art fair, farmers markets, pressed-flower classes, a family-friendly guided bike ride, free bloom-themed Yoga on the Riverwalk Lawn and forest bathing. Walk through Main Street for delightful “Wildflower Windows” decorated by local shops, and pop into restaurants for floral-themed bites and beverages.
Wildflower cocktail and mocktail experiences will be offered at the World’s Highest Distillery, as Breckenridge Distillery turns ethically foraged blooms into beautiful libations. The celebration will also include voluntourism opportunities to give back to the land and help protect the destination’s wildflowers for all to enjoy. Consider giving back to the environment at the Community Weed Pull.
“The Town’s Open Space and Trails program is excited to collaborate with the Breckenridge Tourism Office to celebrate the incredible wildflowers of our local ecosystem and invites the community to connect with these lands in a more meaningful and educational way,” said Alex Stauch, OST Manager for the Town of Breckenridge. “Wildflower Week for us is about sharing the story of Breckenridge’s biodiversity with our residents and visitors while encouraging responsible recreation in these sensitive habitats.”
“I am so excited to share my passion for the wildflowers and for the people who come to be inspired by them,” said Ella Garner, Naturalist for the Town of Breckenridge.
Wildflower season typically peaks in Breckenridge in late July, but due to lower snowpack this year, local experts believe peak wildflower season will be several weeks earlier in the high country. Visitors can expect to find colorful blooms ranging from blue columbine to pink lupine, red and orange Indian paintbrush, magenta asters, purple elephant heads, yellow daisies and many other types of wildflowers.
Wildflower Week builds on Breckenridge’s growing reputation as a premier summer destination for outdoor adventure, arts and sustainable mountain experiences. A full schedule of events is available HERE on GoBreck.com.
