Breckenridge Magazine Releases Issue 11 for the Winter-Spring 2025/26 Season

In Breckenridge, they don’t wear crowns—they wear helmets. Helmets with horns. Some sparkle, some are furry, and others are forged from iron, whispering of days of olde. Many of craft their own. Our partner publication’s publisher expounds on the issue below:

In Breckenridge, we don’t wear crowns—we wear helmets. Helmets with horns. Some sparkle, some are furry, and others are forged from iron, whispering of days of olde. Many of us craft our own—like the one I’m wearing above.

Welcome to our Winter–Spring issue of Breckenridge Magazine. There’s nothing quite like sharing a new issue, and we think you’ll love everything we’ve tucked between these covers.

First, take a moment to meet our contributors. These talented writers and photographers are all residents of Breckenridge. They know this town like the back of their hands and tell a mean (and very nice) story.

We open the magazine with news and information about what’s happening around town, including highlights of our local nonprofits. These incredible organizations help make Breckenridge a better place to live, and we’re proud to share their stories.

We were also delighted to witness the Northern Lights dancing over Breckenridge recently and are thrilled to share a photo capturing our town beneath a kaleidoscope of color.

You’ll find stories about makers, entrepreneurs, and locals living life large. Around here, shopping is practically a sport—and it’s one you can enjoy year-round. Alyssa shares her insider intel on the best places to shop.

We especially love our Kids’ Corner, featuring a story told by a local kiddo who shares his dream weekend in Breckenridge—packed with adventure and activities.

Our feature article explores Breckenridge Backcountry Cabins. You may be surprised by how many there are and the breathtaking places you can ski, hike, and soak in incredible views.

We also share a wonderful story about Father Dyer Methodist Church, written by local historian Lee Girvin, who has lived here her entire life. Founder Father Dyer led a fascinating life and left a lasting mark on our town.

Breckenridge is home to some truly amazing architecture, and we’re seeing a resurgence of classic A-frame construction. Our featured home showcases a cozy, resilient design—perfect for those long winter nights.

Looking for a great place to stay? Don’t miss Shauna’s story on Hotel Alpenrock. From there, head out to explore our vibrant dining scene. Local bartenders share their favorite winter cocktail recipes with Lisa Blake, and we round up some of the fantastic new restaurants that have opened in the past year. Be sure to check out our food trucks, too—another Shauna specialty.

We also love spotlighting our neighbors. Just over the pass in Alma, you’ll find what might be the best new bake shop around. And on the other side of the Tenmile Range, Copper Mountain continues to offer plenty to explore.

Discover what’s happening around town in our events calendar, and don’t miss our Last Lift article, where we explain everything about the Kingdom of Breckenridge—a place where you are always welcome.

Enjoy, and have a wonderful winter and spring!
