Eldora Mountain and Vail opened today adding more terrain to Colorado’s ski country for outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy. Resorts are investing in upgrades that every guest will notice, from high-speed lifts and expanded terrain to sustainability projects and on-mountain amenities. These improvements enhance flow on the mountain, shorten lift lines, and create a smoother, more enjoyable experience on the slopes.
MONARCH MOUNTAIN
At Monarch Mountain, the long-awaited No Name Basin expansion adds 377 acres of intermediate and advanced terrain — a 50% increase in skiable acres. A new SkyTrac triple chair will serve the area, giving guests access to runs that now extend onto both sides of the Continental Divide.
SKI COOPER
Adults age 22-68 can purchase $49 day passes, Monday through Friday all season outside of holiday periods and Spring Break. Ages 15-21 can purchase the same day pass on weekdays for $40. And kids age 6-14 can ski any day of the season for only $35. Older adults age 69-74 can ski all season on a $25 season pass. For those age 75+ the season pass rate is only $10.
COPPER MOUNTAIN
At Copper Mountain, the resort hosts the Stifel Copper Cup World Cup races in November and continues its multi-year snowmaking modernization, installing new fan guns and semi-automatic hydrants to improve reliability and support early-season training for ski teams from around the world.
TELLURIDE
Telluride advances a multi-year modernization project with upgrades to Lifts 5 and 12, and major snowmaking infrastructure improvements, ensuring great early-season coverage.
SUNLIGHT MOUNTAIN RESORT
Sunlight Mountain Resort completes the largest capital project in its history, debuting new Primo and Segundo chairlifts, while giving passholders 8:30 a.m. early access on powder days.
SILVERTON MOUNTAIN
Silverton Mountain expands its rugged, advanced-only experience with new Six Run Heli Days and enhanced private heli-skiing options, alongside its iconic lift-served high-alpine terrain.
VAIL RESORTS
Vail, Breckenridge, Keystone, Beaver Creek will be launching a new technology in the My Epic app that takes Ski and Ride School to the next level. With innovative new features, parents and students can easily check in for lessons, receive real-time updates and photos, track progress, and celebrate milestones and skills with digital badges, all from the convenience of their phone.
Vail will have over 50 live performances spanning the village and mountain this season, including headline performances by GRAMMY-nominated duo Sofi Tukker (Dec. 13 at Ford Park) and EDM icon Dillon Francis (Jan. 9 at Chasing Rabbits).
WINTER PARK RESORT
Winter Park is launching Send’er November, a month-long celebration of the season yet to come. Ski twice in November, and unlock benefits all season long.
The Town of Winter Park
If you have not heard there are big plans in progress. Winter Park Resort CEO, Sky Foulkes, recently unveiled details about the resort’s expansion plans. It’s thrilling news that the resort is now sharing with the public and actively promoting the project. This significant expansion will unfold over the next decade, with a total investment exceeding $2 billion. Some of the initiatives include:
Expanding Vasquez Ridge Terrain (this will make Winter Park the 3rd largest major ski resort in Colorado).
A new Gondola that will connect the resort to downtown Winter Park, effectively making the town of Winter Park ski-in/ski-out (and the first leg of the gondola on the resort side is planned for summer 2025)
A ski trail to downtown Winter Park (usable for hiking and biking in the summer)
A brand new, 10,000 sq ft ski school located on-mountain in Discovery Park
A new restaurant on Vasquez Ridge and improving/upgrading current on-mountain dining options
Additional snow making equipment for Winter Park and new (for the first time) snow making equipment for Mary Jane.
Don’t let a slow to Start Snow Year fool you! Make plans now because when Mother Nature turns on the faucet you might get left behind. You know, there are no friends on a Powder Day…wink, wink.
