Silverthorne Festivities and 2nd Annual Tree Lighting

How exciting! The Town of Silverthorne will kick off the holiday season with its second annual tree lighting as part of December’s First Friday festivities. This community event will take place on Friday, Dec. 6, beginning at 4:30 p.m. in front of the Silverthorne Performing Arts Center and will include holiday carolers, photos with Santa, holiday crafts, and hot chocolate. 

The evening will also feature “Story Time on the Go” at Red Buffalo Coffee & Tea, where tasty treats will also be served. The night will conclude with a “Bad Santa” party at Angry James Brewery where prizes will be awarded for the best “Bad Santa” costume as well as the best ugly holiday sweater. Prizes include tickets to a Yonder Mountain String Band concert, tickets to Brewer’s Rock for Rescue and a package from Angry James brewery.

Friday, December 6:

Schedule of Events:

4:30-5:30 p.m.: Gather and enjoy holiday carolers, family-friendly activities, holiday-themed crafts as well as hot chocolate and treats. The first 300 attendees to arrive will receive a free First Friday ornament!

5:30 p.m: Holiday tree lighting ceremony beings

5:30-7:30 p.m: Photos with Santa inside the Silverthorne Pavilion

6:00-7:00 p.m: “Story Time on the Go” at Red Buffalo Coffee & Tea including holiday treats and crafts

7 pm: Bad Santa Party at Angry James

The festivities continue on Saturday, Dec. 7, with the Town of Silverthorne’s Annual Holiday Bazaar at the Silverthorne Pavilion.  From 9 a.m.-3 p.m., attendees can shop for everyone on their list from more than 30 local vendors selling a variety of wares.  There will be free, family-friendly entertainment throughout the day and a visit from Santa himself!  The newly opened Timberline Craft Kitchen & Cocktails will be serving up small bites and special holiday libations will be available for purchase.

Saturday, December 7:

Schedule of Events:

10 a.m: A live dance performance from the Silverthorne Recreation Center Dancers.

10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m: Santa’s Workshop (complimentary children’s crafts) 

11 a.m. – 1p.m: Live performances from the Summit Choral Society 

11 a.m.-3 p.m: Specialty holiday libations available for purchase

11:30 p.m. – 1 p.m: Small bites from Timberline Craft Kitchen & Cocktails will be served

Noon – 2 p.m.: Visit with Santa

1-3 p.m: Live music performances
