I happened to stumble upon this Belgium Beer Cafe this past winter. I was cold and looking for something to warm me up and did not expect to find such a unique establishment. Heavy wood tables and chairs, a great bar, crystal chandlers, some really unique rustic European furniture and a great menu!

The first thing you get is that this place loves beer. There were names I had never heard of before gracing their giant over the bar chalk boards.  Impressive!  The huge drink menu, features 14 Belgian imported beers on draught and 20 Belgian imported bottles. Beers are selected to pair with the menu complementing the uniqueness, style, and taste of each beer and bringing out the best of the food. And also has some rare beer selections from the Trappiste Monasteries. The staff was super knowledgeable about all of their offerings and assisted me with my selections.

Warm hearty food graced the menu with unique selections and a few of the standard options for those scared to stray. Fried Pickles, Frites Aioli with Parmesan & Truffles, Baked Pretzel, Belgian “Bangers & Mash”, Moules – Frites: mussels served with house frites, Bacon & Gorgonzola, Salads, Soups and more.  I could not resist the Onion Soup with rich hot Gruyere melted over it to go with my DeKoninck Amber. Delicious!

Heading to Winter Park Resort this winter? Head to the Cheeky Monk after a day out, you’ll love it!
