Copper Mountain’s Guitar Town Featuring John Jorgenson Aug. 10-12, 2012

Copper Mountain Resort Guitar Town is keeping the summer hot  featuring John Jorgenson and an incredible 2012 lineup of guitar legends and all-stars. Witness stunning live acoustic and electric performances at the annual FREE festival from some of the globe’s top guitar virtuosos: Eric Johnson, Bruce Cockburn, John Jorgenson, Doyle Dykes, Phil Keaggy, Joe Robinson and many more. The weekend is packed full of mind-blowing once-in-a-lifetime sunset guitar jams, plus; rare, intimate morning workshops that allow guitar students and fans the opportunity to connect with the artists on the Guitar Town lineup.

Perennial-favorite workshops given by many of the artists appearing on the bill, as well as guitar seminars hosted by Taylor Guitars, begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday in the lower level of Copper’s Conference Center. Live music begins on the Guitar Town Main Stage at noon each day – an all-acoustic lineup on Aug. 11 and an all-electric lineup on Aug. 12. Fun kids’ music activities will also be a part of the Guitar Town festivities. The close of each day of Guitar Town always concludes with an electrifying all-star jam that encapsulates the day’s lineup into one astonishing display of collective talent.

The annual Guitar Town ArtGuitar Silent Auction will benefit Music Cares, an arm of the Grammy Foundation providing a safety net of critical assistance for musicians’ in times of need. ArtGuitars will be on display at Copper Mountain Resort on Saturday, Aug. 11 until the auction close at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 12. Artists from around the community and around the state have designed, decorated, painted and created over 20 artworks from damaged guitars, generously donated by Guitar Center.
