Not only are there a ton of fun events to enjoy in Grand County there are tons of activities to participate in too! Check out  25  ideas, all under $20 in Grand County and Winter Park. ~ Tubing and Sledding The Colorado Adventure Park, located just five minutes from Winter Park Ski Resort, offers activities for all ages and adventure levels. The most popular pastime is tubing ($18/hour). Snowscoots (kid-sized snowmobiles) rentals are also available for children ages six and up ($10 for 10 minutes). Autism Skis!  – the only winter skiing and snowboarding  program that guarantees success for any child or adult with autism no matter where they are on the spectrum.   Autism Skis! is a program of Ascendigo, a non-profit offering year-round outdoor adventure recreation and learning to those on the spectrum. The Town of Frisco is celebrating Halloween with 4 Spooktacular events: A book reading and signing of the just released Halloween book, Switchcrafted – The Story of the Switch Witches of Halloween, on Saturday, October 18 Mountain Mentors’ Haunted House from Thursday, October 30-Saturday, November 1 Nightmare at the Museum on Thursday, October 30 Frisco Trick-or-Treat Street on Friday, October 31  Here is the 411 on each event-  Haunted House: The former Frisco community center at 110 3rd Avenue (corner of 3rd Avenue and Granite Street) will be unrecognizable now that it is transformed into a haunted mansion by the Town of Frisco and the Mountain Mentors Teen Program, Activities Run By Youth (ARBY). What a week! I have had the opportunity to attend Woodward at Copper’s Adult Camp and man has it been fun. It has been the full camp experience, staying dorms, eating in the cafeteria and heading out each morning for on the snow training… I am really looking forward to reporting everything. One thing for sure, the camp is filled with young Groms and Gromettes. We reported on a few of our Colorado mountain towns unbelievable young athletes and thought we should shout them out on the internet. This story is about Miles Harvey. I had a chance to see him in action at the CKS Paddlefest this summer. It doesn’t hurt to have parents who love to kayak. eleven year old Miles Harvey of Salida, Colorado is a natural on the water and rivers. Today, Chris Anthony Warren Miller athlete, freeskier and devoted philanthropist announced a partnership between his Colorado nonprofit, the Chris Anthony Youth Initiative Project, and Light Bohrd a premium, hand-crafted board sport manufacturer that specializes in LED illuminated skateboards, snowboards, helmets and longboards. The exclusive relationship between Anthony and Light Bohrd will support Anthony’s Youth Initiative, geared toward reaching fourth and fifth graders across Colorado and educating them on developing – and making steps towards accomplishing – their life goals.
