What to do in Colorado

Colorado’s mountain towns have opportunities for a variety of activities year-round, indoors and outside. What to do in Breck, Aspen, Vail, Telluride or whichever mountain region you are traveling in is a question one can easily find answers for. Here are just a few ideas for each season:

What to Do in the Winter

The skiing, snowboarding are unparalleled in the areas closest to ski resorts, such as Breck, Aspen and Vail. For other winter activities, consider snowshoeing on our Colorado trail system, winter hiking or Nordic skiing. Many areas such as Ouray are known for spectacular ice climbing and ice fishing. For the biking enthusiast, try snow biking or fat biking. For the more adventurous visitors to Colorado, backcountry skiing, ski tours, snowmobiling are all great options. For family friendly activities, check out ice skating, winter hiking, sledding and snow tubing.

What to Do in the Spring

Ski, snowboard, snowshoe are still great options in the spring. The end of season celebrations are fun for the whole family and unique to each mountain. Snowmobile, sledding, sleigh rides, nordic ski, snow tubing, hiking, backcountry skiing, fat bike, horseback ride, camp.

What to Do in the Summer

Hike, mountain bike, road bike, gravel bike, raft, kayak, sail, boat, via ferrata, climb, zip line, fish, flyfish, run, gold pan, jeep, ATV, dirt bike, ski, snowboard, horseback ride and camp.

What to Do in the Fall

Hike, bike, sail, boat, via ferrata, climb, zip line, fish, flyfish, run, gold pan, geep, ATV, dirt bike, horseback ride and camp.

What to Do Year-Round

Shop, dine, drink at one of our many breweries, distilleries and wineries. Experience the arts at film festivals, theatrical performances, musical performances, art walks and gallery tours. And don’t forget about our famous hot springs! Many of the local mountain towns also sport cooking classes, gorgeous night skies for stargazing, and year round bird watching opportunities.
