9th annual Campout for the Cause

Now we know summer is on its way, Campout for the Cause 2017 has announced their dates! Bonfire Entertainment, founders of WinterWonderGrass has announced their 2017 lineup and a BIG change. They have moved locations for Campout for the Cause music and yoga festival to the idyllic Meadows property in Buena Vista, Colorado. The new location is wrapped in hay meadows and old growth cottonwood trees framing views of the 14,000′ Collegiate Peaks. Dancing in the Long Meadow, hanging out on the Island Beach and camping along Cottonwood Creek, are the perfect elements to create the ultimate refreshing weekend and to host the 9th annual Campout.

Campout for the Cause is focused to bringing people together in an inspired setting to reboot the collective spirits. Offering yoga classes and workshops on nutrition, sustainability, and politics, attendees can reconnect through music, nature and conversation. With incredible hiking right off the campsite, nearby hot springs, and a short distance from the Arkansas River the blended options are endless. The local Buena Vista rafting company River Runners will also be offering discounted rafting trips for Campout fans and shuttling directly from the festival site. With the message of “less party, more purpose” as the driving force behind Campout for the Cause, attendees have the opportunity to connect to the beautiful surroundings and choose their own experience.

The gathering will have one main musical area featuring Trout Steak Revival, Grant Farm, Bonfire Dub, Andy Falco of the Infamous Stringdusters, We Dream Dawn, The Good Time Travelers and Ramona. Additional artists include Mama Magnolia, Pickin’ on the Dead and Alpha King Knight with special guest Andrew McConathy, Bob Masters, Jake wolf and more. Spontaneous campfire jams will be sparked throughout the weekend with many of the participating Campout artists.

Music ends Friday and Saturday at 10 pm leaving time for the enchanted bonfire circle, located away from the quiet camping area.

“Campout was never about any one band, or person. The goal has always been to create a family of artists and fans who can come together in a comfortable setting to let the true artistic moments happen. We never book talent for one show, one time slot, we book acts that want to play and participate in the entire experience of a gathering. This is our time to give back, and the charity is closer to our heart than ever” – founder Scotty Stoughton.

A variety of yoga classes will be offered throughout the weekend with yogis de jour Gina Caputo, Kristina Kuzmich, Moonstone Jackson, Bobby L’heureux, Kim Fuller, Mariah Rose and Heath Perry, with classes varying from vinyasa, restorative, acro yoga and flow.

Proceeds from Campout for the Cause will be donated to The Arkansas River Trust and to Emmy’s Friends. The Arkansas River Trust is committed to maximizing the ecological health of the Arkansas River, enhancing and creating open space and parks along the Arkansas River corridor, and promoting youth participation in whitewater paddle sports. Emmy’s Friends is a grassroots fund established for Emery Welle, a one year old girl, who has been diagnosed with and undergoing treatment for a rare childhood cancer known as embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma.

The 400 person capacity is set to protect the important elements of the intimate Campout experience. The festival will provide a community gathering and cooking space around the bonfire where friends are encouraged to share food, share drink and share stories. There will be a quiet family camping area and kids 13 and under are free of admission.

Doors will open at 3 pm on Friday, June 2nd and the festival ends at sunset on Sunday, June 4th. Tickets start at $69 for the weekend and includes all music, workshops and yoga classes.  Camping is an additional $20 per vehicle. Carpooling is encouraged. Limited RV parking will also be available for $99 in designated RV camping areas.
